"We have a need for the government to have more control over the compensation packages," Wynne said Wednesday. "This has recurred over time, not just the time we've been in government," she said.
Tuesday's auditor general's report resulted in the firing of two OPG vice presidents and its chief financial officer.
Wynne said she wants to bring in legislation to give the government more direct oversight over compensation of top-level bureaucrats.
"We need to have more direct control over the compensation packages, and that's what we're going to put in place," she said. "Government needs to have the levers to exercise that control."
