Rob Ford may have been bad for the city of Toronto's reputation in 2013, but he's been pretty good for newspaper circulation, television ratings and pageview counts. But Toronto's infamous crack mayor hasn't just been a gift to the news media and late night comedians, he's also inspired a host of songs.
The latest is a Christmas carol from Toronto A Capella group Eh440, who took that ol' classic "Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer" and gave it a local spin as "RIP Rob Ford (Rob Ford Got Run Over By A Reindeer)."
It goes a little like this: "He'd been drinking on the Danforth / And we begged him not to go / But he didn't listen to us / And he staggered out the door to find some snow."
"We wrote & recorded this song to mark the end of our very own Mayor Rob Ford's shenanigans this year!," they wrote on their YouTube page, "RIP Rob Ford (and the crazy that went along with him)."
