Oilers' Corey Potter suspended 2 games

Edmonton Oilers defenceman Corey Potter was suspended two games without pay on Monday for boarding Anaheim Ducks forward Nick Bonino in a game the previous day.

The National Hockey League announced the punishment on its website, after the blue-liner had a hearing with the league's Department of Player Safety.

Potter will forfeit $7,948.72 in salary, all of which will go to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund.

More to come.
