What's Rob Ford giving his wife for Christmas? No, this isn't the start of a joke.

The Toronto mayor gave some questionable Christmas and marital advice Thursday morning during his weekly appearance on a Washington, D.C. radio show. "Women love money. Give 'em a couple thousand bucks and they are happy," Ford said on The Sports Junkies.

"Oh yeah, yeah, I get a basket and flowers and, you know, a little bit of this and that, but at the end of the day she wants her cash," he told the hosts.

Needless to say Torontonians on Twitter did a collective facepalm and reacted to the mayor's comments.

This isn't the first time Ford has opened up about his wife. He apologized in November after making a lewd comment following accusations that he had sexually harassed a staffer.

Ford has also gotten into hot water over comments he made about women, earlier this month on the Sports Junkies when he joked that women won football pools by picking the cutest guy.

On Wednesday, the mayor avoided a legal battle with Toronto Star reporter Daniel Dale after making two apologies for comments he made during an interview with Conrad Black.
