Metro Vancouver was blanketed with snow on Friday, creating gorgeous photos and havoc for morning commuters.
Traffic was slow on numerous roads and highways. Vehicles spun out of control on Highway 1 and a car hit a pole on Knight Street, The Vancouver Sun reported.

Meanwhile, class was cancelled for many private schools throughout the region, including Little Flower Academy, Vancouver College, York House Elementary and St. Patrick's High School, according to CBC News.
TransLink also grappled with snow-related delays, as the transit authority had to temporarily terminate the 99-B-Line bus service at VCC-Clark instead of Commercial-Broadway SkyTrain station.
The SkyTrain, however, was running on time and commuters were advised to use it as the best option on the transit system.
SFU students also faced delays as buses were temporarily stopped from going all the way to the university loop, but full service was restored by 8:05 a.m.
Environment Canada said that the snow is expected to fall until sometime in the afternoon, when it will turn to rain.
But snowfall didn't just create inconveniences for commuters -- it also provided an opportunity for Nova Scotia weather guru Frankie MacDonald to provide one of his frantic, hilarious reports for west coast residents.
