If you follow celebrity fashion, you probably find yourself asking, “Why on earth did she wear that?” and wondering whether you could have done a better job at styling said celeb.

Well, you're not the only one.

That’s why we’re here to present a list of proposed celebrity fashion resolutions for 2014. Let us know if you agree in the comments below!

Celebrity Fashion Resolutions

Miley Cyrus

Resolution: Mix up your wardrobe.

The 2013 reigning queen of controversy enjoys her crop tops, daisy dukes and vinyl underwear and while this is all fine and dandy, we would love to see the "Wrecking Ball" singer dress less like an x-rated cartoon character in 2014.

Miley should take a cue from Lily Collins, who wears sexy but classy outfits that reflect her youth. We recommend some shift dresses and a couple of designer pencil skirts, all in stretchy fabric of course for ease of twerking.

Melissa McCarthy

Resolution: Don’t hide your body and embrace your curves.

The brilliant comedienne needs to stop hiding behind so much fabric. "The Heat" star has been spotted on the red carpet more than once in unflattering dresses that simply don’t accentuate her best assets such as her 2013 Oscar gown by David Meister, which engulfed McCarthy's figure and created a sloppy illusion as she walked the red carpet.

We would love to see the "Bridesmaids" actress show a bit more skin in an a-line frock with straps, a form-fitting (but not tight) frock that accentuates her waist and an outfit that has bright colours and prints. (Let's try to stay away from black and grey, please!)

Kim Kardashian

Resolution: Dress for your body, not for trends.

Kim Kardashian’s biggest fashion sin seems to be wearing trends regardless of whether or not they suit her body. This was especially evident during her pregnancy with North West. The full skirt was big in 2013 but the voluminous fabric didn't suit Kim's curvy physique.

Another huge trend in 2013 was florals but Kim forgot the old adage that "less is more" when she attended the 2013 Met Gala in head-to-toe roses which overwhelmed her frame.

We would love to see North West's mama wear more low key outfits that accentuate her curves without displaying them for everyone to gawk at.

Nicki Minaj

Resolution: Less cleavage!

We appreciate the rapper's wacky Lady Gaga-esque style, however, we’d love to see her occasionally dress less like a life-size Barbie and more like a natural woman. Rather than repeatedly wear bras as shirts in public, we would love to see the singer wear gorgeous oversized pastel coats, cigarette trousers and a tuxedo shirt that gives us a hint of her curves.

Simon Cowell

Resolution: More variety and get rid of the unbuttoned shirts.

Low maintenance is one thing but Simon Cowell’s unbuttoned shirt obsession is quite another (we really don't want to see your hairy chest, Simon!) We would love to see the music mogul in more tailored blazers and maybe even a sweater in 2014. Dare we suggest he wear a masculine pattern like a stripe or a paisley perhaps? We won’t hold our breath though.

Mariah Carey

Resolution: Looser pants.

Mariah Carey seems to prefer wearing her signature bandage dresses but the odd time we do catch her wearing pants, they’re always too tight and the result is an embarrassing fashion faux pas commonly known as camel toe.

Instead of wearing jeans which look like they're painted on her skin, the mom should opt for loose-fitting trousers paired with a sheer blouse (so she still gets to feel sexy), high heels and a fitted blazer.

Ellen DeGeneres

Resolution: More colour.

Ellen DeGeneres has her look down pat and we love it. Her classic style, which includes tailored masculine suits, fit her well and more importantly, she’s comfortable in her wardrobe. DeGeneres often wears blazers, vests, collared shirts and sensible shoes. However, we noticed she almost exclusively wears neutral colours. We would like to see the funny woman add a few pops of colour into her wardrobe in 2014 such as pastel (the hot colour of the season) and Pantone's colour of 2014, radiant orchid.

Olivia Palermo

Resolution: Dress a little more down to Earth.

Don’t get us wrong, we love Olivia Palermo’s impeccably put together style. However, sometimes we’d love to see the bride-to-be look not so picture perfect. We realize it’s odd to request the socialite wear a shirt with a wrinkle in it or maybe shoes with a scuff or two but it’ll make us all feel less inferior when we inevitably have one of our many off days in 2014.

Paulina Gretzky

Resolution: Wear something other than a bikini.

Paulina Gretzky made a name for herself in 2013 by wearing the skimpiest of bikinis so we think it's high time she dazzle us with new outfits. We already know how amazing she looks poolside and we would love to see The Great One’s daughter mix it up in cool spring 2014 fashion trends like button-up shirts, cropped jackets and wide-legged pants.

Justin Bieber

Resolution: More mature clothing.

Teenie bopper Justin Bieber might want to consider dressing more mature this year if he wants to be taken seriously as an artist. The singer is often spotted in extremely baggy t-shirts, tank tops, chains, backwards caps and baggy leather pants (is he living in the '90s?).

We recommend a few tailored suits, jeans that don’t sag and perhaps more dress shoes to increase his fashion credibility. Bieber should look to another young celebrity like Zac Efron for reference on how to dress for his age.
