Donna Mills Dead: Wife, Mother Of 5 Identified As One Of the Fatalities In Olds Crash

Mom Of 5 Killed Driving Home

Donna Mills, a 56-year-old wife and mother of five, has been identified as one of the victims in a deadly triple crash near Olds.

Mills was driving home after work on Jan. 6 when a minivan carrying six framing workers, all aged between 19 and 21, crossed the undivided highway and crashed head-on into Mills' SUV, reports Global Calgary.

“Her entire life was all about her family. She has lots of friends,” Donna's husband Craig Mills told Global.

“I never met anyone who didn’t like Donna.

"She’s got friends from kindergarten she’s still friends with. That’s the kind of person that she was.”

The crash occurred along Highway 27, around 6 p.m.

Mills, who was the only occupant in the SUV, and two of the occupants in the minivan were pronounced dead at the scene.

Three of the young men in the minivan were put on life support at a Calgary hospital, reports Metro Calgary.

“It’s hard in that I just lost my best friend,” Craig told Metro.

“I’m not weak in spirit — It would’ve been horrific if I would’ve been behind her or beside.

“I’m at peace. I know that she’s in a good place and my job is to keep it together for the family, the children and grandchildren.”

RCMP say the six occupants in the minivan had just finished work in Olds and were headed home to Red Deer when the crash occurred.

Mounties say neither visibility nor alcohol were factors in the crash. The investigation continues.
