Vancouver's Breakfast Courier Delivers To Your Door

Breakfast Delivered TO YOUR DOOR

Despite it being the most important meal of the day, breakfast is often neglected. So two Vancouverites decided to create a way to make it hard to skip.

Cue Breakfast Courier: a bike delivery service that brings hot, fresh breakfast right to your door.

"You always have lunch and dinner — breakfast is the one that gets missed," Breakfast Courier COO Ripan Gill, 29, told The Huffington Post B.C. on Tuesday. "You're like, 'Oh well, maybe I can go to the gym and skip breakfast,' or, 'Maybe I can get into work early and skip breakfast,' or, 'I slept in, so I'm skipping breakfast.'"

Officially launched in late November, Breakfast Courier's goal is to make it simple and quick — just a phone call or a few clicks on their website — to have your breakfast and eat it, too.

"Our goal is to have as short distance as possible for the deliveries, so we have restaurants strategically placed throughout our service areas," said Gill, who runs Breakfast Courier with partner Jay Tenga. "So your food is not travelling for too long, and it's as hot as possible when it gets there."

Breakfast Courier serves weekday breakfast from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and weekend breakfast from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. They currently employ four bike couriers who deliver to the downtown core as well as Kitsilano and a bit of East Van (with plans to expand as demand increases).

They currently work with Cafe Zen, Deacon's Corner, Caffe Barney, and The Brasserie.

Each restaurant makes six menu items ranging from bacon and eggs to granola and yogurt, plus an array of side dishes. Once an order has been placed, it takes about 35 to 40 minutes to reach your front door.

As for Gill's personal favourite breakfast? "I love French toast," she said. "French toast and bacon all the way."
