CBC will be liveblogging as the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers (CAPP) and Shell Canada discuss comments by Neil Young about the oilsands industry that were made ahead of his benefit tour to help an Alberta First Nation.

Young also has a news conference set for today in Winnipeg, the second stop on his Honour the Treaties tour to help raise money for the Athabasca Chipewyan First Nation (ACFN) for its fight against oilsands development.

"Fort McMurray looks like Hiroshima. Fort McMurray is a wasteland," said Young in September.

"The Indians up there and the native peoples are dying The fuel's all over — the fumes everywhere — you can smell it when you get to town," he said.
