Snowbank collapse leaves boy, 9, in critical condition

A nine-year-old boy is in a Winnipeg hospital after part of a snowbank collapsed on him.

Winnipeg police confirmed to CBC News that the boy was rushed to hospital in critical condition on Wednesday evening.

The incident happened at around 8 p.m. in Winnipeg's Fort Richmond neighbourhood.

Police say they believe the boy was in a tunnel or snow fort. It's not known how long the child was under the snow.

The incident is not believed to be suspicious, according to police.
