Three men have been charged and a fourth suspect is being sought after a brutal kidnapping attempt in Richmond, B.C. this week.

Neighbours called police after they heard a man screaming for help early Tuesday morning, reported CBC News. RCMP responded to the 6800 block of Eckersley Road for reports of a man being beaten, the force said in a news release.

The injured man was taken to hospital and later released, said the RCMP.

Three of the suspects, who fled in a white vehicle, were stopped and arrested by Vancouver police. Xiao Xi Yang, Thomas Vu and Isaac Lee now face charges of robbery, assault and attempted kidnapping, said the RCMP. They're still looking for a fourth individual.

Last summer, there was another failed abduction attempt in Richmond. Two men have been charged with trying to kidnap a man and his five-year-old son.
