NDP leader Thomas Mulcair, who intends to make middle-class families a priority heading into the next election, delivers a speech on that theme to his party's caucus on Parliament Hill Friday morning.

CBCnews.ca is carrying the speech live at 10 a.m. ET.

It's the second day of a strategy session that the NDP hope will help them to take back the reins of the consumer agenda following the Conservative government's speech from the throne from last fall.

Among other things, Mulcair will be addressing his party's plans to strengthen Canadian pensions, including restoring the retirement age to 65.

Mulcair plans to take these issues on the road when he embarks on a cross-country tour next week.
