Father, daughter hospitalized after Mississauga drowning

A father and his young daughter are in hospital this afternoon following a drowning incident at a Mississauga high-rise.

Emergency personnel pulled a man in his 40s and a three-year-old girl from a swimming pool at 80 Absolute Ave., a condo complex near Hurontario Street and Burnhamthorpe Road East, at about 11 a.m. according to Peel Regional Police.

An officer performed CPR on the man, later identified as the girl's father, at the scene. He was sent to hospital without vital signs. He was later upgraded to stable but critical condition.

The girl regained consciousness on the scene and was also sent to hospital to be checked out, say police.
