For the sake of love, it's always good to get a second opinion. So if you've already done the research on your horoscope for 2014, it may be time to look at the Chinese zodiac as well.
January 31 marks the beginning of the Chinese New Year, so if finding love was on top of your resolution list, we think it's only fair to start fresh (again). According to a survey by Match.com, one-third of single Canadians said they wanted to go on more dates in 2014.
But if you're already in a relationship, it could also be a good idea to get to know what the future holds for you and your partner for the year ahead. And of course, take all of this with a grain of salt — all relationships should be based on trust and communication, horoscopes merely give us an idea of the alternatives.

Chinese Horoscope 2014 For Dating
Rat (1948, 1960, 1972, 1984, 1996, 2008): The Long-Distance Dater
Dating a rat? He or she isn't afraid of the distance. More than half (53 per cent) of singles born in the year of the rat say that they would have a long distance relationship, while 15 per cent are willing to travel over eight hours by plane to see their partners. Now that's commitment.
Ox (1949, 1961, 1973, 1985, 1997, 2009): The Eternal Optimist
Want to date someone positive? Seek out an ox. Most singles (88 per cent) born in the year of the ox are self-proclaimed optimists. People born this year are more likely to date a variety of people — whether they are tall, short, rich or broke.
Tiger (1950, 1962, 1974, 1986, 1998, 2010): The Rash Actor
Tigers are fun, impulsive and adventurous. Fifty-one per cent of surveyed tigers said they were spontaneous when it came to dating. So if your second date takes place at the end of a bungee cord, don't say we didn't warn you.
Rabbit (1951, 1963, 1975, 1987, 1999, 2011): Living Life To The Fullest
If you're dating a rabbit, get ready for something fancy. Rabbits are the most willing to spend big bucks, with 43 per cent spending at least $60 per date. But in the spirit of living life to the fullest (YOLO), they are also more likely to have one night stands and send sexts.
Dragon (1952, 1964, 1976, 1988, 2000, 2012): The Aloof Lover
Dragons don't like to cuddle. Period. Dragon singles were more likely to opt out of getting cozy and snuggly during dates. So if you're looking for someone to curl up under a blanket with in front of the TV, look somewhere else.
Snake (1953, 1965, 1977, 1989, 2001, 2013): The Foodie
Dating a snake? Don't forget your appetite. When surveyed, snakes (51 per cent) considered themselves lovers of all things cooked (and sometimes raw). So if you want to date a Snake, just know you'll always be full.
Horse (1954, 1966, 1978, 1990, 2002): The Planner
A horse is most likely to plan out every single detail of his or her life, including their dating life. Horses like to plan ahead, make reservations and never likely to just go with the flow of things.
Ram (1955, 1967, 1979, 1991, 2003): The Loyal Partner
When it comes to relationships, rams are in it for the long run. They are dedicated partners, with 74 per cent saying they believe you can stay married to the same person forever. Aw.
Monkey (1944, 1956, 1968, 1980, 1992, 2004): The Old-School Dater
People born in the year of the monkey are keeping it romantic. A whopping 91 per cent of monkeys say they would only date one person at a time and 51 per cent say they would never have a one-night stand.
Rooster (1945, 1957, 1969, 1981, 1993, 2005): The Peacocker
If you're into shopping and staying stylish, date a rooster. People born in this year are more likely to buy new clothes for every occasion.
Dog (1946, 1958, 1970, 1982, 1994, 2006): The Early Decider + Multiple Dater
Dogs are super decisive. Forty-five per cent of dogs will decide if a date is going well within the first 15 minutes and they are most likely to make a decision about the second date right away.
Pig (1947, 1959, 197, 1983, 1995, 2007): The Quick Kisser
If you’re going on a date with someone born in the year of the pig, then there’s a good chance you’re getting a big fat smooch at the end of the night. An overwhelming 87 per cent believe it’s appropriate to kiss on the first date.
