KAMLOOPS, B.C. - The Mounties say the online activity of students in B.C.'s Interior could result in charges including the distribution of child pornography.

The RCMP is being vague about the precise nature of the case, but the force says it relates to material that has been passed between students at several high schools in the Kamloops area.

Cpl. Cheryl Bush says investigators are considering a range of charges, including the production and distribution of child pornography, harassment and uttering threats.

Bush says the students involved are under 18.

The superintendent of the local school district, Terry Sullivan, says some students have already been disciplined.
