Under the inversion, fog and low clouds will continue to be a concern. The challenge will be to forecast how quickly the fog moves in during the morning hours before daytime heating burns it off. But there is a good chance that afternoons will be bright and sunny for most of Vancouver — amazing for this time of the year.
Temperatures will also be above seasonal, once we get out of the morning fog: 7 C to 9 C afternoon highs, 0 C to 1 C overnight lows, and extremely warm on the mountains.
The next chance of rain will come with a breakdown of our high-pressure system and an approaching Pacific system for Tuesday. It appears the region will return to a more typical January weather pattern at that point, along with some much-needed rain and mountain snow.
