A memorial for beloved North Shore Rescue leader Tim Jones will be held this Saturday.

According to the North Shore Rescue website, there will be a parade at 10:30 a.m. followed by a memorial service at 12 p.m.

The parade will start at 15th Street and Forbes Avenue in North Vancouver and go along 15th to Lonsdale Avenue and along Lonsdale to 23rd Street, where it will end in the Centennial Theatre parking lot. The service will take place inside Centennial Theatre (2300 Lonsdale Ave.).

While theatre seating is reserved, members of the public are invited to watch the ceremony on a large screen set up outside.

Jones, a veteran rescue leader, died suddenly on Mount Seymour Sunday evening.

A memorial fund has also been set up in Jones' honour. After just two days it has already raised over $26,000.
