Dr. Jay Dahman and paramedic Mark Cameron, members of the Canadian International Medical Relief Organization, are in the middle of a two week clothing drive to get winter clothing to those in need in the war-torn country
“We’ve seen kids without shoes walking barefoot in the snow without winter coats, without hats, without toques, mitts and so forth and frankly many of them are dying every night there as we speak,” Cameron said.
Both Cameron and Dahman are medical trainers at Humber Regional Health Centre as well as at Sunnybrook Hospital.
They've been there several times, as recently as last December, providing front line care to the wounded in places such Aleppo.
“Internally there’s millions and millions of families that have been displaced, or individuals that have lost their families and are displaced and we don't know of that so that’s the challenging part to help them.”
