Much of the province remains under the influence of a very strong ridge of high pressure that will continue to bring warm and sunny conditions to the mountains, with fog and low cloud to start off the days in Vancouver — and this is the story right through the weekend.
Look for the fog to reappear on the South Coast tonight, followed by a lovely Saturday afternoon where afternoon temperatures will get up to 8 C. Cool overnight lows mean there's a risk of frost on the roads.
At this point, it looks like this weather will stay until Monday, when the ridge finally breaks down. It has been an unusually strong system, bringing record-breaking heat to parts of Yukon. It's quite the contrast to conditions in Eastern Canada, which is on the other side of this dramatic temperature swing.
By Tuesday, a much more seasonal weather pattern will move into the West Coast, bringing showers and some much-needed mountain snow.
