Multi-vehicle pileup traps 30 people on Highway 15

Quebec provincial police say one person could be dead after a 40 car pileup on Highway 15 near Ste-Adèle, as blowing snow has created treacherous driving conditions across southern Quebec.

Highway 15 southbound is closed to traffic after Ste-Adèle. Provincial police said about 30 people are trapped inside their vehicles.

Highway 15 southbound near St-Jean-sur-Richelieu is also closed.

A blowing snow warning is in effect for the Montreal and Quebec City areas.

Another multi-vehicle collision near Lévis has closed Highway 20 eastbound, and a pile-up closed part of the highway westbound near Beaumont, east of Quebec City.
