The incident occurred at about 6:45 Monday morning when a 59-year-old woman was grabbed from behind as she walked in the 5600 block of Blundell Road.
Corp. Stephanie Ashton says the woman struggled and was able to escape, while the suspect, who is believed to be male, ran in the opposite direction and vanished in the heavy fog.
The suspect is described as about 5'7" tall, with a slim build and wearing black clothing.
He may have an injured hand or fingers as a result of the struggle, but the victim was not hurt.
Investigators would like to talk to anyone who was in the area early Monday and may have seen someone running on Blundell or Clifton roads.
