Haunting Vancouver Fog Photo Is Edgar Allan Poe Come To Life

Haunting Photo Is Edgar Allan Poe Come To Life

This is about as close as you'll ever get to seeing an Edgar Allan Poe poem come to life.

The photo was taken by Amir Hariri at Ambleside Pond in West Vancouver on Friday of last week amid the city's latest encounter with all-encompassing fog. And, believe it or not, it was captured with a phone. A Nexus 4 to be exact (with the app Camera ZOOM FX). It has not been Photoshopped.

Despite its humble origins, the image has racked up more than 600,000 views since being posted to Reddit on Monday. Hariri told HuffPost that he "never expected it to get this much attention and I'm happy that a lot of people are enjoying it."

Will we ever see a photo this cool again taken with just a phone? Quoth the Raven, "Nevermore."
