Veterans Affairs worker speaks out against closures

A civil servant who works on the front lines with veterans will be in Ottawa today to speak out against the plan to close Veterans Affairs offices across the country.

The federal government is closing offices in nine communities. The government says the services will still be available online.

The Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) has organized the press conference.

The union and a front-line Veterans Affairs worker will speak to reporters at 10 a.m. ET.

Offices are set to close in:

- Corner Brook, N.L.

- Charlottetown.

- Sydney, N.S.

- Thunder Bay, Ont.

- Windsor, Ont.

- Brandon, Man.

- Saskatoon.

- Kelowna, B.C.

- Prince George, B.C.
