EDMONTON - Alberta Premier Alison Redford is shrugging off some sharp criticism delivered by former Edmonton mayor Stephen Mandel.

Mandel has been attending Progressive Conservative party functions since retiring as mayor last fall.

But he told the Edmonton Journal this week he wouldn't run for the party while Redford is leader.

He says Redford has failed to deliver on key issues such as helping develop municipalities.

Redford say Mandel is an opinionated man and she enjoyed working with him as mayor.

She says while she expects Mandel to fight for municipalities, premiers and provincial governments have to take a broader view of issues.
