Trudeau Celebrates Chinese New Year

Justin Trudeau celebrated Chinese New Year by meeting members of the Chinese community in Richmond and Vancouver on Friday.

The federal Liberal leader visited Aberdeen Centre and the Lingyen Mountain Temple in Richmond in the morning, the Richmond Review reported.

He later handed out lucky red envelopes and signed a Chinese translation of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms at a meet and greet with Freemasons at Vancouver's Pink Pearl Restaurant.

Trudeau made news this week after his controversial move to boot all 32 Liberal senators from the party's caucus.

He addressed the move with reporters on Friday, saying that it doesn't contradict his pledge not to rule from the top.
