'Gargoyles': Disney Cartoon Lives Again On YouTube

'Gargoyles' Lives Again ... For Americans (And Canadians With IP Blockers)
Disney

Children of the '90s (or fans of mature, fantastic cartoons that were cancelled well before their time), rejoice!

"Gargoyles," the critically acclaimed animated epic that ran from 1994 until its cancellation in 1997, has finally found a legal home on the internet. The entire series is available for streaming on Disney TV's (unfortunately, as of this writing, only in the U.S.) YouTube page.

Fans of the series have been left out in the cold for years regarding any sort of home release for the entire cult classic series. Only Season 1 ever received a full DVD release, and fans have been waiting for any sort of full series box set or digital distribution of the remaining two seasons. Fortunately, the entire series is now online and available for full marathon viewing pleasure.

Fans of the series have been vigilant in their ongoing support of the show despite its relatively short run; The Gathering of the Gargoyles, a yearly fan convention that hosted everyone from series creator Greg Weisman to voice actors Keith David and Jonathan "Riker" Frakes, ran from 1997 to 2009. It's always heartwarming to see the faith of fans rewarded in one way or another, and now the adventures of Goliath and his crew of ancient Scottish warrior lizards can be enjoyed by a wider audience. (It's a very good show; trust us.)

As Golaith himself said in the opening credits, the Gargoyles live again! Also, fun fact: A huge amount of the cast of "Star Trek: The Next Generation" ended up providing voices to "Gargoyles."

Have fun, trivia nerds!
