Even though Olympians travel far and wide to compete for a gold medal or two, it's no surprise living in facilities with some of the world's hottest athletes leads to hookups in the Olympic village.
Several athletes are turning to location-based dating app Tinder to browse and rate their neighbours. Twenty-three-year-old American snowboarder Jamie Anderson told US Weekly, she and her fellow female athletes like to "play matchmaker" and look for cuties staying in Sochi.
Anderson added she found Tinder in Sochi so distracting, she had to close her account to focus on the Games.
New Zealand snowboarder Rebecca Torr took to Twitter to reveal her fascination with using Tinder in the village — not to mention her disappointment when the Jamaican bobsled team wasn't registered on the app.
(Update: she found them — and told them she was rooting for them.)
The Olympics itself has a history of wild parties, sex and giving out condoms — 100,000 condoms were sent to Sochi's medical centres this year, according to Yahoo.
After the 2012 London Games, ESPN reporter Sam Alipour wrote a detailed story on everything from orgies, drunk interviews and an athlete confessing to having sex at least three times a day to stay relaxed, according to Business Insider.
But for the rest of us non-athletic types, meeting those hotties isn't a problem either — as long as you're in the village. Brittany Legasey, who is currently volunteering at the Games as a press assistant told Syracuse University's blog she is currently talking to 15 athletes on Tinder, and while some even made plans to meet up with her, of course work keeps getting in the way.
