Canada, USA Play To A 4-4 Tie In Olympic Village Street Hockey Game

Canada, U.S. Play To A Tie..

Not content to sit and watch their hockey teams compete in the Olympics, other Canadian and American Olympians took to the streets of the athletes' village and held a ball hockey game on Thursday.

On the ice, the Canada-USA rivalry is one of the fiercest in the world. On concrete, a little less so. But Canadian Olympians like Patrick Chan and Gilmore Junio still managed to bring their game face.

Chan, who dazzled us on the ice with his figure skating did score a goal, Global reported. It's not known whether Patrick Chan used his skating prowess to triple-deke his way past the U.S. defense.

At one point the game was interrupted by a forklift and the time-honoured calls of "Car! Game on!"

The Americans may have brought some ringers to the friendly.

But in the end, it didn't help. Final score Canada 4 - USA 4. They even shared a few beers afterwards.

We're pretty certain that this will not be the score when Canada and USA play for the gold medal in women's hockey on Thursday, Noon ET. Or when men's team play each other on Friday.

Here are more photos from the game:
