$2.1 million seized in police drug bust

The Toronto Police's Drug Squad announced the largest cash seizure in its history on Monday.

Approximately $2.1-million in cash was in Canadian, American, British and Euro currencies, according to Staff Inspector Randy Franks.

The operation, which the police called Project Green Giant, also came up with a total 203 kilograms of marijuana and three kilograms of hashish.

The range of currencies seized breaks down like this: $1,945,130 Canadian, $462,131 American, £1,050 pounds, 330 Euro — all adding up to more than $2.1 million Canadian.

In total seven people were arrested, four were charged and three were released.
