Police say U.S. authorities told them two men were trying to run the border and were heading north in the 39000 block of Old Yale Road.
Abbotsford police say they quickly dispatched the Air 1 police helicopter and a K-9 unit, capturing two men, ages 23 and 49.
Abbotsford police spokesperson Cst. Ian MacDonald says backpacks containing 20 kilograms of suspected methamphetamine were found on the U.S.side of the border.
He says the arrest was the result of cooperation between the two police forces.
"The extremely effective communication between Canadian and American law enforcement on the ground and in the air resulted in the capture of two suspects in rural, south-east Abbotsford," Macdonald said.
The two men will be turned over to Canadian immigration officials.
