You had one job John Travolta! The Pulp Fiction actor was tasked with introducing singer Idina Menzel before she sang her Oscar-nominated song "Let It Go".
Travolta seems to flub on her name pretty badly, saying something that sounded like Adele Dazeem (or Adele Dazim), who knows. You can listen to it here:
Yeah, we're not sure what happened there. The Internet, of course, just couldn't let it go (ed note: sorry).
Record company execs scrambling to find and sign Adele Dazeem.— Mark Knoller (@markknoller) March 3, 2014
I would pay 500 dollars to hear John Travolta pronounce Chiwetel Ejiofor. #Oscars2014— Matt Mira (@MattMira) March 3, 2014
And inspired at least one fake account.
Thanks for the introduction, John! #oscars— Adele Dazim (@AdeleDazim) March 3, 2014
Buzzfeed guesses how Travolta would've pronounced other nominees names. We think he might be a bit tongue-tied over Lupita Nyong'o.
