Sure, Rob Ford may have appeared on Jimmy Kimmel’s Oscars special on Sunday night, but that doesn’t mean he knows diddly-squat about Hollywood.
Hours before the Kimmel cameo, CTV's ETalk host Jessi Cruickshank met with Toronto’s embattled mayor on the streets of L.A. to conduct a pop culture pop quiz.
“Alright, there are nine movies nominated tonight for best picture — name three,” said Cruickshank.
Ford responded with an underwhelming, “Wouldn’t be able to, sorry.”
But rest assured, the universe’s comedic forces aligned and Ford’s responses picked up when he was asked to answer a series of Oscar nominee-related fill-in-the-blank questions.
To Cruickshank’s “Leonardo,” Ford responded with “Da Vinci.” Next, to Jessi’s “Meryl,” Ford responded with “candidate… Meryl Street. I dunno.. I’m thinking – see I’ve got politics in my head.”
Meryl Street?? COME ON.
And then came the obligatory interview-ending crack-related question, which Ford was obviously less than pleased about:
“Name the Oscar-nominated film that features Leonardo DiCaprio and Jonah Hill smoking crack.”
“Oh no,” responded Ford.
The politician is in L.A. to make an appearance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" as the show's headline guest Monday night.
