Even if you could afford the $7,500 US tickets, the 2014 TED Conference in Vancouver is already sold out. But you're in luck: the highly influential talks will be broadcast live for free!

For the first time, anyone who has affiliation to an accredited community centre, non-governmental organization, high school, university, or library will have access to a free livestream of the talks, reports TechVibes.

Applications for accreditation are open in Vancouver, North Vancouver, West Vancouver, Burnaby, Coquitlam, Delta, Langley, Richmond, New Westminster, Surrey, Squamish, Whistler, and Victoria, according to BC Business.

It's an exciting opportunity, especially considering the speakers at this year's conference includes Bill Gates and Chris Hadfield.

TED Vancouver, which is being hosted by the city for the first time, will be held March 17 - 21 at the Vancouver Convention Centre and a satellite event, TEDactive, will be located in Whistler.
