The former U.S. secretary of state's appearance at a Vancouver Board of Trade event is drawing a record crowd according to the board's president Iain Black.
"This will be the largest single event in our 127 year history," said Black, noting Bill Clinton spoke at board events in 2008 and 2010.
The Queen Elizabeth Theatre has a capacity of 2,765 seats and while there are a few tickets left, Black expects every seat to be filled.
Clinton, who identifies herself as a "glass ceiling cracker" on her Twitter profile has many firsts under belt. In addition to being the first student commencement speaker at Wellesley College and the first female chair of the Legal Services Corporation, Clinton was the first female senator from New York and is the only first lady ever to have run for public office.
Black says Clinton is the most sought-after speaker on the circuit right now, in large part because of rumours she may be considering a 2016 run for the White House.
"I can't think of anyone who commands more attention that Mrs. Hillary Clinton at the moment."
She will be speaking at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre at an event hosted by the Vancouver Board of Trade's Women's Leadership Circle.Suggest a correction
