Prince Harry At We Day: 'It's Cool To Help Others'

WATCH: Prince Harry Does Princess Diana Proud At We Day

For Free The Children's first-ever We Day event in the U.K., kicking it off with a member of the royal family certainly fit the bill.

Prince Harry, fresh on the heels of launching a Paralympic-style competition for wounded soldiers, spoke to 12,000 children and volunteers in attendance at Wembley Arena.

"Our generation has the greatest opportunity of any in our history to affect change on a global scale," he said, going on to talk about children in Syria forced to leave their homes.

As is customary for members of the royal family, Prince Harry is attached to several charities, many to do with his involvement in the military. Prince Harry and his brother William also co-founded the Royal Foundation of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry in 2009, which became fully operational in 2011.

He also continues to carry on the legacy of his mother, Diana, Princess of Wales, in helping people affected by HIV and AIDS. She undoubtedly would have proud to see him inspire thousands of children to go out and bring philanthropy to the entire country.

"If each of you here could get just one more friend to help someone else, you would have started changing the lives of 20,000 people," Prince Harry told the crowd. "Some people don't think it's cool to help others — personally, I think it's the coolest thing in the world."

Prince Harry was also joined by his girlfriend, Cressida Bonas, in one of their first official public appearances together.
