It's the tale of the little black bear that could.

Alberta outdoorsman Pat Garrett captured on video just how far a bear was willing to go to get its paws on a tasty snack tied up between two trees on his property in Breton, Alta.

The adorable video, uploaded to YouTube in May of 2013, shows the curious bear climb a tree and shimmy its way out to reach a piece of beaver meat strung up on a rope, dangling for almost a minute before falling to the ground.

Although the video was shot last spring, it only recently began to attract attention and by Tuesday morning the clip had almost 600,000 views.

Garrett, who runs Garrett Bros. Outfitting, told CBC News the clip has attracted attention worldwide and many people have inquired about the curious cub, including Ellen DeGeneres, who might feature the video on her show.
