Dominique Maltais clinches World Cup snowboard cross title

Canada’s Dominique Maltais secured the World Cup snowboard cross overall title Tuesday after winning an event in Veysonnaz, Switzerland.

The Petite-Rivière-Saint-François, Que. native, who recently won a silver medal at the Sochi Olympics last month, collected her fourth straight overall title and fifth for her career.

The 33-year-old veteran also won her 13th career World Cup event.

Eva Samkova of the Czech Republic finished second, while American Lindsey Jacobellis placed third.
