CALGARY - The president of the Canadian Alliance to End Homelessness is calling a new Facebook group that sets out to humiliate homeless people in Calgary "simply disgusting."

Tim Richter says it's a new level of bullying.

On the "Creature Sightings" Facebook page, young men take pictures of themselves posed beside people who may be passed out or sleeping in public places.

In one video post, two young men harrass an elderly homeless man by following him throughout downtown buildings while yelling obscenities at him and delivering running commentary they call "creature hunting."

Richter calls it an example of how social media can be a power for evil.

Police are investigating and have asked people who feel threatened by members of the group to contact them.

Richter says even if charges are never laid, he says this kind of activity should be ignored or shamed.
