FREDERICTON - New Brunswick politician Greg Davis says he will not be running in the provincial election in September because of health issues.

Davis says in a statement that he hoped his ongoing medical concerns would have improved so he could run again, but that is not the case.

He did not specify what health issues he was facing.

Davis, who represents the riding of Campbellton-Restigouche Centre, says he is proud to have served for the governing Progressive Conservatives and help advance several initiatives including a new local hospital.

He was elected in the September 2010 election.
