FREDERICTON - New Brunswick's government is set to announce its new forestry plan Wednesday.

Premier David Alward and Natural Resources Minister Paul Robichaud will be participating in the Fredericton announcement.

The Tory leader said during his state of the province address on Jan. 30 that the plan would increase the amount of wood fibre being processed in the province.

Liberal Opposition Leader Brian Gallant has accused the government of delaying the plan until the final year of its mandate in an effort to get some momentum going into a September election.

Green Party Leader David Coon has said he's concerned the plan will allow clear-cutting within existing buffer zones along streams and wildlife zones.
