Lucy The Emu Still On The Loose In Nanaimo

Search Still On For Runaway Emu

UPDATE: CTV News reports that Lucy has been found safe.

Lucy, the emu who has been ruffling feathers in Nanaimo since escaping his farm earlier this week, is still on the loose.

A YouTube video shot Sunday and posted to YouTube on Thursday shows the 70-kilogram bird strolling along Nanaimo River Road.

Since Lucy went missing, the runaway bird has been spotted around Nanaimo, but has yet to be captured and returned to Cassidy farm where he was raised by humans.

The bird is strong, fast, and loves grapes. He was discovered to be male after he was named.

The story has prompted puns and jokes galore on social media.

Even a Twitter account for Lucy has been created.

Lucy's owner Tim Genner is asking anyone who sees Lucy to call Nanaimo RCMP, reports CBC News.
