John Tory to discuss mayoral run on Metro Morning

Metro Morning's week-long series of mayoral candidate interviews continues today, with John Tory due in studio to talk about his campaign at 7:40 a.m. ET.

Tory — a former leader of the provincial progressive conservatives — will speak with host Matt Galloway in an interview Toronto listeners can hear live at 99.1 FM. CBC.ca will also provide a live video stream of the interview, which you can watch by clicking on the image that appears inside this story.

A full video of the interview will also be posted in this space shortly after 8 a.m.

The interview series began Monday with former NDP MP Olivia Chow. On Tuesday it was former councillor David Soknacki's turn. Former TTC chair and current councillor Karen Stintz will be in Thursday and on Friday Mayor Rob Ford is scheduled to be in studio for an interview with Galloway.

Each interview will happen at 7:40 a.m.

Tory, who's also held high-level boardroom jobs and hosted his own talk radio show, is one of a handful of right-of-centre candidates in the race. Tory launched his campaign earlier this month, vowing to lower taxes and reduce wasteful spending at city hall. This is Tory's second mayoral campaign, he lost a close race to David Miller in 2003.

Toronto voters head to the polls on Oct. 27
