Andrew Dennis, Suspected B.C. Online Predator, Arrested, Charged

ABBOTSFORD, B.C. - A 31-year-old Abbotsford, B.C., man is facing charges in the latest cautionary tale for parents trying to protect their children from online predators.

Abbotsford Police say they arrested a suspect March 27 in connection with what they're calling an historic investigation.

Details such as the date of the incident are not being provided and Const. Ian MacDonald says other information is also being withheld in order to protect the victim.

It's alleged the youth was befriended on Internet and social networking sites before meeting the man.

Police say the case highlights the need for parents to monitor the online activities of their children.

Andrew Dennis, who officers say does not have a criminal record and only minimal contact with them prior to last Thursday's arrest, is charged with sexual assault, sexual interference, invitation to sexual touching and luring a child.
