Toronto Mayor Rob Ford was approached by a production company to create a reality show, the Globe and Mail reported on Friday.

Pilgrim Studios, creators of shows such as "American Chopper", "The Ultimate Fighter" and "Amazing America with Sarah Palin", reached out to Ford while he was in Los Angeles to appear on the Jimmy Kimmel show in March, according to the paper.

From the Globe story:

“I’m writing because I’m interested in speaking with you and Mayor Ford about the possibility of developing an unscripted television project together,” an executive of the studio wrote to the mayor’s spokesman at the time, Amin Massoudi, in an e-mail obtained by The Globe.

The mayor’s chief of staff, Dan Jacobs, said Friday that he was unaware of the request, and did not know whether a meeting ever took place.

Rob and Doug Ford briefly hosted a show on SunTV titled "Ford Nation," but it was cancelled after just one episode. The Ford brothers have taken that show to their own YouTube channel.

News of a possible Ford reality show also spawned a #CityHallRealityShows hashtag. Some of our favourites below:
