Brian Gionta, Habs keep home-ice advantage hopes alive

Brian Gionta scored the lone goal at the Bell Centre on Saturday night to hand his Canadiens an overtime win against the Rangers, which moved Montreal ahead of the Tampa Bay Lightning for the second spot in the Atlantic Division.

Carey Price made 41 saves for the shutout, while New York's Cam Talbot stopped 26 shots in the loss.

Montreal now has 100 points on the season, one better than the Lightning, who they will face in the first round of the Stanley Cup playoffs.

Tampa Bay will play Washington on Sunday, and will need to beat the Capitals in any fashion to earn home-ice advantage against the Canadiens, who finished their regular season on Saturday with the thrilling overtime win.
