Bird of Vancouver 2014 vote begins today

The City of Vancouver has chosen six birds that live here all year to be named the city's official bird for 2014. The winning bird will be used to promote Bird Week in 2015.

The city says the contest is designed to raise awareness about the diversity of birds in Vancouver and their importance to a healthy ecosystem.

Voting ends May 10

This year's' City Bird' is the Northwestern Crow.
