Sure, she wasn't exactly Maverick (aka. Tom Cruise) but the Duchess of Cambridge looked quite comfortable as she was taught the basics of the jet, wearing four-inch black heels and a body-hugging white LK Bennett dress with blue flowers. (Surprise, surprise: the Lasa Poppy print frock has already sold out.)

Despite looking as if she were about to have high tea with the Queen, Prince George's mum reportedly was fascinated by the "dials and gadgets" of the Super Hornet.

We think a ponytail, like the one Catherine sported while in New Zealand, would have been better suited for a faux plane ride rather than her signature half up half down hairdo but hey, we're not experts at fighter jet style.

After the reception, the photobombing pro and William took in a rugby match between the New South Wales Waratahs and South Africa's Northern Bulls at Allianz Stadium. To keep warm, Kate sported a grey sweater, a blue-and-white scarf and jeans and Will even sported his glasses.
