Corey Crawford recorded his third career playoff shutout as the Chicago Blackhawks topped St. Louis 2-0 in Game 3 of their series on Monday.

Jonathan Toews scored a weak goal between Ryan Miller's pads just over four minutes into the game, the only goal for about 55 minutes. Marcus Krueger scored into an empty net for Chicago, which now trail 2-1 in the best-of-seven Central Division series.

Chicago was playing the first of three games without defenceman Brent Seabrook, who was suspended three games for a high hit on David Backes in the previous game. Backes, the Blues captain, did not play on Monday.

Crawford finished with 34 saves.
