Clearwater Woman Killed, Man Arrested After Standoff

CLEARWATER, B.C. - Mounties in Clearwater, B.C., say they expect charges to be laid against a man in connection to the death of a mother of three young children.

Police responded to a call for help Monday morning and found the dead woman inside a local home and her children missing.

On Monday afternoon, police say they took a man into custody without incident.

The three children were found in the same home as the suspect and police say they weren't physically harmed.

The name of the man won't be release until he appears before a judge to face criminal charges.

Clearwater Mayor John Harwood says counsellors will be at the local elementary school in to help students deal with the incident.(The Canadian Press, CHNL)
