Seriously, Toronto Maple Leafs Fans?

This is how bad it is to play for the Toronto Maple Leafs: a player can't tweet something as innocuous as his passion for night fishing without being absolutely savaged for it on social media.

On Monday, Leafs forward Phil Kessel tweeted that it "doesn't get much better" than night fishing with friends.

It wasn't long before he had invoked the wrath of Leafs fans who would rather see him on the ice for the postseason.

Kessel responded to the tweets, saying, "Relax people, playoffs would (have) been better, some of (you) need to chill out, it's crazy." He later deleted his postings.

Common sense soon prevailed, as it will:

Kessel's right about one thing: there are few activities better than night fishing with friends.

One of them? Playing somewhere else.
